I started to pen down my thoughts 2 years prior but never finished, decided to finish it now.

As a species we have made incredible advancements although our time on earth has been miniscule. Just in news today, the last of Einstein’s prediction on gravitational waves has been finally proven after nearly 100 years. Grand unified theory next? It seems that change is a constant part of our life nowadays. Alas, one crucial thing has not changed, but in fact has further evolved in its craftiness and all consuming greed. Politicians!

Now, don’t get me wrong, I am not advocating that all them are blood sucking vultures. But looking at all the different problems and affects of poor governance that is occurring around the world, costing countless innocent lives, it suffices to say one would be hard pressed to identify a good one.

Herein lies the problem, which to a certain extent I know I am oversimplifying. We simply don’t have the ‘best’ possible person in the country governing the nation. We’re killing the only planet we know, yet, politicians find it so hard to come to any consensus. It’s actually business as normal. Billions of dollars are embezzled, business as usual, thousands die drowning looking for freedom, business as usual, and sadly the lists just goes on.

We sorely lack leadership with integrity… Leaders of the most powerful nations nowadays can get away (literally) with lies and deceit and even murder!

We as educators have to seriously re-think about the current education system, is there something we can do? What can you and I do?
